Ok, so I was talking to my friend who had his alumni interview this past Sunday. He said he asked his interviewer "When will we get our decisions by?" and she said "Yale starts sending them out on December 1st." What?? Is this a change in policy, something that has always been, or just a misinformed interviewer?

Definitely a misinformed interviewer. It has always been the policy to send out all of the decisions on the same day. Even the ASC website says that all interviews need to be in by December 1. Yale isn't going to start accepting people without being able to compare everyone.

That's what I thought. Maybe she misunderstood him and thought he was asking when the interview had to be in by. Or maybe dec. 1st is when they go into a final review stage or something.

Yeah, that would make a lot more sense. And the decisions definitely have to be made before the 15th so they can print out letters and update the website, etc. However, it's always been standard policy to mail out all the decisions at the same time.
