It happens.
We've fallen in love with a particular school because of the opportunity that it affords us as well as the people who await us there. Where the life of the mind is more central to the unity of the school than the athletic program. This is why I want to be at UChicago this fall.

Beautifully stated, ridethecliche.

Ditto here.

Hopefully we will make it there :-)

Am I included in that "we"?

No. (lol @ 10 chars)

what about "nosotros"?

De ninguna manera Eric. Sorry, couldn't resist the spanish.

Yo veo....

me non habla espanol.

latinam linguam scribo et lego.

interesting....

berenelen: Latina regit! Hic anno Catullum legis?

Leggo My Eggo!

Vergil legemus.

You must be east coast latin. I'm west coast. We mainly take the AP Vergil test here. Your name amuses me. Are you a JCLer by chance?

Midwest...I think I'm just doing Cicero/Catullus because that's what my teacher knows how to teach. Although it's independent study and she hasn't spoken to me since November. No, I'm not in the JCL, are you?

Lego Vergil in collegia.

Yes, I love JCL. If you don't have a chapter at your school I really strongly recommend that your teacher start one. Its amazing. Midwest? What state? I'm in California.

meestasi: Interesting. What are you studying now?

Haha, I'm up for both this year. I didn't take the AP V last year, but I think I'm sufficiently prepped out right now.

Doing Daphne and Ovid review right now.

Well, since my current high school doesn't offer latin, I had to dual enroll at college. I think the sophomore level latin, which I am taking will be quite easy if you've come out of 4 years of high school latin with a large vocabulary and knwoledge about grammar. I doubt it's much different from your AP classes where we msotly do a lot of reading and a take a few tests.

Lego kai grapho Graecum.

It's still Greek to me; the language is tough.

I dabble in Latin on occasion (I'm supposed to be keeping it up . . . .).
