I just recieved my email of acceptance into Newhouse and Whitman at 2:59!

accepted 3/20
I like many was waiting anxiously...

gpa: 3.9 W
act: 26
rank: 14/341

Didn't hear :(.

I didn't hear either! Does this mean I have to wait another week!!!??

Accepted

Ethnicity: Chinese
gpa: 3.0 unweighed
SAT: 1650/2400
A lot of ex's

I didn't hear, either. To put it frankly, this sucks.

D is getting frustrated. Many applied from her school. All have heard but her. She wants to send deposits in to her 2nd choice school because she is sick of waiting. Why do they stagger admits like this? It is not very good PR for them. Leaves a "Screw SU" feeling in your gut when you go to the mailbox and still nothing.

Have you checked your bulkmail or spam mailbox? Sometimes college acceptances and messages end up there.

I checked it and there is nothing there either :(

I guess there on an extended vacation and not sending out many emails yesterday and none today. Very frustrating.

I should clarify. SU is the family's first choice. D's wants to get the paperwork into her first choice. And her choice is the only one that should matter, right? Don't even know why I am waiting. Guess I want her closer to me.

I'm still waiting too. But all this waiting is very nerve-wracking. I wish they just sent all the letters out at the same time!

I'm freaking out....I'm already 90% sure I'll be attending McGill University, but I got 2 waitlists today from Lehigh and Muhlenberg (!?!?!?!? My GPA is in their middle range and my ACT was above the 75th percentile)...Lehigh I kind of expected since my 9th and 10th year grades werent so good and my dad gave them a ton of shi.t about the financial aid process...but now im bugging out about all the other schools i applied to.

plus a bunch of people in my area have heard..most from visual performing arts, but one from newhouse, too. I applied to management first choice, arts and sciences was my second, but i still havent heard anything. getting into management would be ideal, but im not 100 percent counting it because my math grades werent so hot throughout high school but i figured id be 100 percent into arts and sciences....

3.3 and a 30 ACT, tons of activities, essays and stuff were strong...
does anyone know anyone else who got into management/arts and sciences with similar or worse stats? im so worried im rejected from pretty much everywhere else after muhlenberg...ahh

have any rejections come out at all though? if theyre going to stagger it, im hoping they arent doing rejections last or im done for..it's terrible when you know its done that way and your letter isnt there yet. happened with my NYU early decision, most painful week of my life, id hope syracuse wouldnt be the same..

Yes. 3 of my d's friends are in. 1 Newhouse, 2 vpa, 2 rejected. All in the first week of decisions.

Just called admissions. They will notify everyone who applied by the end of March. This week, decisions will be sent out towards the end of the week.

Still waiting for notificaiton, applied to newhouse. I'm starting to get really nervous. Anyone recieved news in Colorado?

president, don't worry too much. we are waiting for d decision too. her friend's received on the 15th, (lower stats than her I might add too). all we can think is she applied on the last day. they applied in november. i want her there more than she wants to be there, but part of me thinks she is now afraid of rejection because it is taking so long. (wonderful people from parents forum, i WILL let her decide) i'll say again, not good pr. if you say march 15, you should be prepared for that. i am sure a week late wouldn't cut it with your professors. i would hope anyway. my husband and son will be going to NIT game tomorrow night. we have had season basketball and football tickets for 25 years.

I wouldnt worry that much about not receiving a decision yet. Originally they said they would release between March 15 and April 15th. I got mine the 14th, but one of my friends (who im sure will be admitted since she has much better sats and stuff than me, and i received a decent scholarship) still hasnt heard. Good luck though!

The admissions lady told me that you would recieve an e-mail befor the letter. How long befor the letter arrived did people recieve the e-mail?
