Decision day

I'm gonna check Princeton and then Brown, since I care more about Brown.

...Who am I kidding? I'll have them both open and refresh them alternately.

all those hits are going to be like a zombie attack on those servers. we're all going to be sitting there in front of our screen spitting up f-bombs every time it comes up a 404, and then wishing we hadnt seen the results when we finally get thru the tollbooth--- cause then its the point of no return. i just wanna sit it out, but wont be able to. then there's parents going into hysterics either way... and this is the culmination of all we've worked for, guys!

Then there's school the next day, and having to face your classmates and your teachers and your school's guidance department..... I'm getting a headache just thinking about it.

Ughhhhhhh, I know, Jiess. I didn't want to tell everyone that Brown is my dream school, now I'm going to have to tell everyone on earth that I was rejected. x.o;

Yea, it's gonna be rough at my school because of our size and closeness with each other. 4/16 people applied to Ivies in my grade. So you know people will want to know as soon as you walk in the door. Hopefully people won't gloat though. That would be the worst.

yea xSteven, I was scared that would happen to me! So I told only 2 friends (1 didnt even go to my school) that I was applying ED. But that also made for a very awkward next day when people didnt even know I applied and some other people were deferred...

i told different ppl where i applied. some ppl know i did brown. others know i did dartmouth and others know i did princeton. some overlap haha, but i dont think they talk to each other so its okay. no one knows i did harvard. no hope of getting in there, so no need to share with others. lol

anyway, i will be checking DBPH. good luck to everyone!!

I may have told most of my friends... I seriously regret it. I don't think I can handle 15 faces and voices of pity on the same day.

^Good choice. I don't think I would survive coming back to school after hearing all that "pity." Who knows what they'll say behind your back???

I made a facebook group. It's called Prospective Students for Brown 2013. If you want to join, then you're welcome.

wait how do we check online?

also argh not going to be at home on the 31st going to be in a completley different country where I can't figure out the stupid time difference and don't have regular access to a computer ARGH ARGH ARGH

sooo freaked out sooo freaked out sooo freaked out sooo freaked out!!!

I am counting about 30 members on this thread so far, so that makes it pretty good odds that all of 2 of us will get in, with a few more waitlisted. That leaves most of us in pretty miserable company. I think I prefer to move forward instead of waiting here in paralysis. I think this was a really good article that everyone should read. Also the waiting-list one is helpful too.

Ivy League Rejection/Waitlisting: You Got Options

Might as well start looking at the options clearly and practically before they happen, and prepare a plan of action and get ready to get over it.

I predict a massive internet slowdown at 4:59pm on 3/31 as every pre-frosh in the country hits the F5 referesh key a million times on 3000 websites.

Taking predictions here on which schools' websites will crash under the strain. My moeny's on Columbia and Providence College, two of the slower and clunkier sites I've encountered.

Ugh, I don't want to think about crashing...

oof, i told....everybody i know. haha, but they've told me all of theirs too, so chances are a lot of us will be retelling sob-stories come april...

2? haha, please don't start talking statistics. there is a very real possibility that it'll give me a minor aneurysm.

it will be like 250,000 zombies hitting those machines. then all the wailing and gnashing of teeth out here on CC: it's going to be frozen screens all night. anyway, i think i will wait for the morning after.

Afox99, I like the quote on that link about getting rejected:

"You gave away your life for them. Now they are asking you to go away, please."

Yeah, we all need to remember that we live in a great country and there are still many other options for all of us if we do not get into the top choice school.

god now I have to lug my laptop with me when I go away... wasn't going to take it but argh. Luckily the hotel I will be at on that day as internet wifi access in the lobby.... i know where I will be 11pm paris time on the 31st of march haha. Still not sure how to check... is it just on the website and login they gave us in the confirmation email>?

Brown University Admission Decision is where they post it. If you log into your account you can also access your decision and a little grey box will be there that says "Your Admissions Decision" or something like that (right now it says Decision: Admission decisions are currently not available). NOTE: They will have that box come up (at least it did for me) a few hours early, so you'll be ready to click it and get ur decision. You click the box and a new tab opens and you'll be shaking nervously freaking out (lol) only to have a message that says they need a few more hours. So, just giving you a heads up so you don't freak out like i (and i'm sure many others) did.
