Last month I applied to ASU downtown Phoenix campus as a journalism major at Cronkite. Last week I checked my asurite and found out that I got accepted, but my question is how long will it take for me to get my official acceptance letter? I have all of these holds and and have no idea as to what steps I am supposed to be taking. I am aware that I cannot sign up for classes until I sign up an attend orientation. Also, I am a transfer student from Texas.

Thank you in advance!

I applied in the fall, and I think it took me a month to get a financial aid letter and then two weeks later to get the acceptance letter. I think this shows they’re a little slow with the acceptance letters since I didn’t even know I was accepted before I got my scholarship. I would sign up for orientation ASAP, even before you get your letter, if you can. Classes will be very limited at this point, so sign up for the earliest orientation to get the best choices. There will be holds like MMR verification, confirming housing, photo ID, etc. that you’ll need to do. If you’re an incoming freshman, you’ll also have to make sure your school will send your transcripts. (At my high school, there’s a form you fill out to do so, but I’m sure it varies.) Most of the holds you can do right away, like emailing them your shot records for the MMR verification or choosing housing. You should also get started on the math placement if you need to take the practice exams. To see what you can do for a hold, scroll over it and follow the instructions. They can be done in any order! Your advising holds will be lifted at orientation, and then you can start signing up for classes! Good luck!!
