Decision Notification Date/Time

It’s supposed to be by April 1st, but evidently it usually comes out way before then, even before MIT. Anyone have any information or speculations as to when decisions will be out?

I’m guessing/hoping for Friday, 2/11.

@FlyingLark I’ve heard that Caltech tends to release their decisions a day before MIT, and MIT has released their decisions on 3/14 for the past few years. So maybe bet’s on 3/13 (yes, it’s a Sunday, but apparently schools have released decisions on weekends in the past).

Caltech doesn’t really release the date - for EA, I only found out because people were posting on CC that decisions were out.

@smartypants57 SAME for EA! No one seemed to know they, and then suddenly they were just out hahha

@FlyingLark I wish there wasn’t this uncertainty about release date & time - I’ll be on a 9 h overnight flight with no wifi on the 12th-13th…

@hiddenfalls Oh gosh, I’m so sorry, that’s real rough. :frowning: On the bright side, when you check, there won’t be any lag or portal problems! Not that Caltech usually has portal problems, but hey it’s something! Haha

@FlyingLark Hahahahaha! There’s always something positive in every situation, I guess! I just hope I won’t lose my mind waiting and attempt to open one of the emergency doors while 30,000 ft in the air and cause an explosive decompression…oh wait, that’s just all the Mayday and Air Crash Investigation episodes talking. I’m sure I’ll survive the wait, though I’m not so sure I’ll feel any better after I get my decision.

Apparently 03/12/16 at 7:00 pm PST.

@maestroarvind Where did you get that information from?

@dianaDM Been seeing it all over the net. On the Caltech 2020 thread, on various posts on Reddit, on the “Admissions Notification Dates 2016” CC post, etc.

Saturday! I wonder if this is an estimate based on past trends or announced by admissions?

@FlyingLark It is an estimate. The admissions office haven’t announced anything yet and from what I’ve heard they never announce.
