How are EA applicants notified of their decision? Is there an online way to check or do we wait for the snail-mail letter? Thanks and good luck to all who applied!

Don't know the specifics of the process this year, but I doubt much has changed from years past. Georgetown in notorious for not adopting a lot of the new technologies, especially in regard to admissions (this is the first year you could apply online for EA by the way). I'm pretty sure Georgetown would notify applicants by carrier pigeon if they could. The goal is to have applicants notified by Dec 15th, by mail. I know last year, in part due to what day Sunday fell on, only a handful found on the 16th, most on the 17th, and I got mine on the 18th (at least I think I'm remembering the dates right). I think they said if yo don't get your decision by the 17th or so, you can call. This squabbling over a few days may seem petty now, but rest assured, when December 15th rolls around, you'd be willing to fight tooth and nail for every hour ;)

^LOL about the carrier pigeon part.
I kind of like the idea of getting acceptance letters by mail--it seems like it'd be so much more impersonal online. I heard that for McGill, you simply go online and see the status next to your name and it either says "Accepted" or "Rejected". Ouch.
