Hey, congrats! I was rejected at both Cornell and D-mouth. Ah well! Here's hoping for Chicago!

hey man...sorry about those two. ah well, hopes up, eh?

speaking of hope, i think that its in short supply for tomorrow's history exam. i'm mothered :D

wait, did i say tomorrow? more like four hours away. ah well.

keep heads high, mateys.

since apparently nobody has been rejected so far doesn't anyone doubt that the rejection emails have not been sent?

I think they're sending the emails after a while.

Ah, I don't care about the Ivies. Chicago's the only one I'll get upset about if I do get rejected :D

Keeping those e-mails away...

Are we sure that UChicago sends out the rejections by email? Some other thread says that it was only the case for EA.

Yep,

I telephoned the admission office and the lady replied no email notification, either rejection or offer, will be sent to all types of applicants, international ro native.

According to the website:

"Unfortunately, it is not possible to learn admissions decisions over the telephone or via the Internet. All offers of admission made to applicants abroad are sent by couriered mail. Notifications of other decisions may be sent initially through e-mail; however this electronic notification is always followed by an official letter sent by post."

international...are you sure the link is addressing RD applicants?

Yes, as far as I know I don't think email deisions are available. It was just a rumour..

It didn't specify. Nonetheless, it would be great if someone could clear this up. To find that piece of information, i went to international students faq, just in case you wanted to know.

In case this is all true, if they did send the rejection/waitlists by e-mail, I want to know when they sent it on. Isn't that what everyone is concerned about?

A member named Astrix posted on the 30th:

"Thanks, and the same to you! Incidentally I emailed and:
Quote:
Decisions will be sent on or around April 1st. Those who have been admitted will receive a currier package. Applicants who have been put on the waitlist or denied will receive an unofficial email notification and a first class letter. Thank you for your patience."

Was this the rumor you were talking about? It is confusing because he quotes an e-mail from the admissions office saying one thing, while brightguy says he got a telephone confirmation from the admissions office saying another thing.

yea...that's it...

that's why i'm confused.

Well, that's what I got from the Director of International Admissions, Ms. Alison Segal. I figured she would know.

In that case, I trust you astrix. I appreciate the information.

You never know, tho. They might've gotten lazy and decided not send them emails :p

But their site said the same thing for EA notification, and I (along with others) DID receive an email before the snail mail.

Perhaps it was only for EA, perhaps none of us intls are being rejected, or perhaps they're still waiting to send it. But they DID send out emails for the EA round, despite what they say on their website.

God, they're killing us. They're like hawks swooping down on shivering rabbits. Just let us know, already!! I'm going insane here.

maybe we all got in :P

Hehe... yeah, why not :D
