Decision: SUNY at Buffalo vs. St. Thomas Aquinas

Hi Everyone.
Time to make a decision on colleges. Due to finances and opportunities, I have come down to two choices out of 25 :D

Would like any opinion on what you would do: Here are the difficulties preventing me from choosing.

St. Thomas Aquinas:
Full Tuition Scholarship w/ additional benefits in Honors Program (check link below)
Honors Program
I wanted to major in biotechnology, they don't have it, but have majors related to it (Pre-Med, Biology) Even though they don't have that major, I was thinking I could major in Biology and then get a Masters in Biotech (and, hopefully, go to Medical School after)
I know for Medical School I don't need to major in science, but I honestly like science, and if I end up not going to Medical school for whatever reason, what a science major to fall back on... just not sure what jobs are available with biology major besides being a teacher?
According to what I was reading, there is no actual Pre-Med course. Just Pre-Med core classes added to your major (correct me if I am wrong)
Anyway, back to the school, I visited and I liked the dorm settling, wasn't crazy about campus but I think I can grow to love.
Small number of undergraduates = good. Means smaller classes. Teachers were friendly
Far enough from home that I have to dorm, but close enough that I can visit - I am accident prone sooo :D
Has all sports that I am interested in and study abroad (see link) at Oxford

SUNY at Buffalo:
Has Biotechnology undergraduate degree that I wanted
Haven't visited, but looks like a nice campus
Really far from home - and in cold climate
Got into an honors program there
A lot more undergraduate students
A little more expensive regarding tuition

Basically, holding back from making a decision because of major. What would you do? Responses appreciated. Need to choose soon. Thank you :D

Buffalo’s is “in cold climate.” Where’s St. Thomas Aquinas? In the tropics? Take a look a Buffalo’s crime rate before you visit. You may not come back alive!

What were the next 5 best of the remaining choices?

SUNY Buffalo is in a suburban part of Buffalo (very safe) and is a research university. There is a new medical corridor in Buffalo affiliated with the university with lots of biotech research. Buffalo is no colder than Albany or any other part of the northeast and in fact has had little snow for the past three winters. SUNY Buffalo is a large school and depending on what you can afford is a wonderful university. It is diverse and has students from all over. Many majors to choose from which makes for an interesting student body.

No crime rate can be higher than NYC, and I live there. Safe to say I will be fine. No other choices. Applied to a lot of schools, but these are the only 2 I can afford without a loan, and I am not taking out a loan. Though CUNY Hunter didn’t look too bad.

I know SUNY Buffalo is a great school, but is it worth going to for my major if Aquinas has similar majors?

Thank you for the responses so far. Hope they continue. Has me thinking about different things :D

NYC has a much lower crime rate than Buffalo.

Okay. According to the link given to me. I can say that NYC has a lower reported crime rate, doesn’t feel like it though. Personally, feel like there should be a lot more, just that its unreported. In any case, while that does influence my decision, can anyone tell me anything regarding majors? That would help me a lot right now :D

UBuffalo Main (North) campus is in Amherst not the city of Buffalo. It is very suburban. South campus is near a high crime area but the students know that and avoid those off campus areas. You can leave South campus and shop, etc. There are streets to avoid, though many students live in those areas off campus and do just fine. Street smarts at night… stay in groups. Son lived on S. campus freshman year and the kids loved it. Moved to north afterwards to be closer to classes. As a Long Isalnd parent, I have no reservation recommending the school. Has been wonderful for son. Great academics (sciences, health sciences, engineering). It is a long winter, though I don’t think that should be a make it/break it decision for anyone.

By the way, Jet Blue from JFK and Delta form LGA have direct flights.

Post “major” questions on the Colleges- SUNY Buffalo threads.

I am going to post it there. Hopefully someone can help me. If anyone still has any advice please post here or there. Just want an opinion :D

Nobody really on there I guess, looking to make a decision soon so please post here  Just want opinions :D
