I got:

English = 33
Math = 34 (18, 16, 16)
Reading = 29 (16, 13)
Science = 35
Composite: 33

First of all, this is a completely serious thread. No trolls or anything here.

Now, if I want to apply to Yale (or any other college that asks for ALL testing sessions), would it even be worth it to take it again to raise the score by 2 or 3 points? I'm pretty confident that I could raise the reading score to a 34-35 and therefore raise my composite. But... if I take it again, would it be against me on my application?

Is this with or without writing? I took it the first time without writing and got a 35. I was incredibly peeved when I learned that some schools I plan to apply to require the writing section and had to retake. With that said, I got a 36 on the second attempt and don’t regret the decision at all (Of course hindsight is 20/20). So just know that there can certainly be a payoff.

Also, how many times have you taken the ACT? The general, acceptable limit is 3.

Yes, it was with writing, but my scores for that aren’t in yet. And this is my first time.

If this was your first time and you feel you can up your reading score then I would certainly retake it.
