so i am deciding between UCLA and St. John's in new york. Can anyone give me some insight into st. johns? i know that most people will gravitate towards ucla but some information will be nice. thanks

St John’s is in Queens (urban area), an ok campus, Catholic college. A friend’s son is in thr Pharmacy program there which is well regarded locally. Personally I’d go to UCLA better weather, locale and perhaps ranking I don’t know. If you want to be a short train ride to NYC St John’s fits the bill. Check out college student review websites for more feedback from actual students from these schools

Well I have heard that UCLA, due to the budget cuts in CA, have really crowded dorms, and huge class sizes. On the other hand, St. John’s is in Queens. They have a really pretty campus. The people who go there are from different religious and racial backgrounds, despite its being a Catholic school. I have also heard that it used to be a commuter school, but more and more people are staying on campus. It really depends on where you live (if in CA, UCLA might be cheaper, but still, SJU gives a generous amount of FA too) and what you’re planning to major in. Keep in mind though, in UCLA, it’s probably harder to change majors and sign up for classes, since there’s more people and competition there.
