So I'm torn between UGA Honors, with Charter Scholarship, and Georgia Tech. I'd do International Relations at either school. I know the Honors program has lots of opportunities, but so does the Ivan Allen College. I'm so confused as to which school to choose. And I'm also stuck as to whether I should try to get off the waitlists at Emory and JHU, or if I should just stick to in-state public schools.

Between UGA Honors and Tech for IR, WITHOUT A DOUBT UGA Honors, speaking from the perspective of someone in the program. I am a Political Science major, so I know a little something about the International Affairs major here, being in the School of Public and International Affairs (SPIA). As for the waitlists, you can certainly try to send them a letter of interest/ last-ditch effort to get recognized, but just know the chances of getting off them successfully are slim. Honestly, I don't know what your post-graduate/tentative career plans are, but UGA Honors is a GREAT choice for you from all four choices you have listed here, esp. in that particular major. Sometimes I wish they would make a ranking (since people are so into them) comparing the UGA Honors Program to schools across the nation. It would definitely rival any top school, public or private.

Good luck with your decision! :) I'm sure you will be highly successful wherever you go!

I don't think a rating system is necessary. You need to weigh in all the benefits of the honors program here, coupled with a small student-to-teacher ratio, and all of the advantages of the UGA program in general. The program is solid- find the right fit for you.
