Decisions, decisions

My dream is NYU. It's a dream, though, because I have little hope of getting in this round. I'm a freshman in college, and my first semester grades weren't too hot. But acceptances are starting to come from other places: Trinity University, Mills College, a likely letter from American. This is the final decision for me, because I'm only going to transfer once. The question is, do I settle for Mills or American (or UT, if I get accepted), or do I stick it out at my current school for another semester, another year, work harder and try for NYU again?

Even though I hate my current school, I have things going for me here. My schedule for next semester is incredible. I am friends with half of the professors. I'm an officer in a community service club, which seems to have the only good students on campus--I've made a lot of friends in this club. My dorm situation is fantastic.

If I had money, maybe this wouldn't be such a problem, but as it stands now, Trinity and Mills want deposits by May 1, before I'd have a chance to visit either and before I'd get my NYU decision.

This is going to be quite a difficult decision.
