My son is still trying to decide between NYU Steinhardt and Univ of Miaimi for Muscial theatre
Just got back from NYU and had a great trip
Must decide this week Yikes!

I'm still trying to decide between Tisch-Adler or Ithaca MT. Gah!

There are a lot of people who would be very happy to have that choice. Congratulations.

To the person who was asking about Emerson, my D's close friend at school here in rural Vermont is going to BFA in MT at Emerson, as well as another Vermont friend she has done theater with in Vermont over the years...so if you're going, they will be joinin' ya.

Actor, take care in making your decision. Congrats on such fine choices. My D has friends going to both those options and all are happy about it and ya can't go wrong and it is a matter of figuring out which best matches what YOU want. My D got into Ithaca's BFA for MT and two girls from our high school have gone there and it seems very good. Good luck deciding.

Just wondering if anyone has any information about the programs at either of these schools. My daughter is interested in both, and I have not heard alot of feedback about either of these programs. Any help would be appreciated.

After carefully weighing pros, cons and everything in between...

My D has decided to attend CCM--for MT.

We just returned from a whirlwind trip there and had such a wonderful time. After having many heartfelt conversations, with students, speaking with staff, faculty (including chair Dr. Berg), observing classes and seeing an amazing performance of "Elizabeth I" by drama majors, the deal was sealed for us. In addition, the campus is undergoing some major renovations--brand new completed student center, new dorms, athletic stadiums, retail stores and a facelift of many other facilities.

LOL, we also got a taste of Midwest weather. Spent 4 1/2 hours stranded in the Cincinnati airport waiting for some terrible thunderstorms to pass. Just our luck, it was the first time the airport was closed down since last summer.

Anyway, I promise to keep in touch with my CC correspondents. I hope to hear great things from everyone.

Freelance, you know how happy we are for our "third" daughter ;-). We are so proud of her and while the girls won't be together next year, they each found a place to hone their craft that is the right choice. I knew the decision earlier today when your D called but wanted to publicly say, yahoo for your daughter! She is going places!

Congrats to YOU for getting through this process, Mom....it's done....or, er, is it just beginning???
Love,
Susan

Just wanted to add my "yipeeeeeee" for Freelance's D. I'm sure she will absolutely blossom at CCM. Shoshana Bean, one of my faves (I knew her BEFORE she became the star of Wicked) is a grad, and man can that girl SING! Give your D my congratulations!!

After visiting Drake and American, my D has decided on American. I'll post on the main thread some of her reactions to these programs.

Congrats to everyone. This has been a long process!

Lots of happy happy endings (or beginnings!) on that list. Soooo happy for NewMTMom's daughter.....she found HER place...it is going to be great. Lots of opportunities for her there.

RossJi....my D needs to meet yours! We should connect.

Collegebound87, I mentioned to my D about you on the forum and know you are from CA and go to a performing arts high school. It would be great to connect you to my daughter if you ever want.

AllThatJazz....are you a boy or a girl? Sorry if I can't recall or ever knew! Congrats on your decision. You mentioned along the way that you attended Saturday in the Square at Tisch and my D also was there. She said that when they divided the drama kids up into studios, there were not alot of CAP kids. I wish we knew you were going and had hooked up. You may have noticed her...she was the girl on the crutches. Did you gather with that group? I wonder if she met you.

Maybe online we can forge these connections amongst the kids here.

Congratulations to this year's seniors and their exciting opportunities ahead! I hope you all will post in the fall to let us know how it is going.
Susan

I have the honor and privilege of finally being able to formally announce my daughter's decision for PSU in design/tech.

I will now go get drunk on a bag of M&Ms.

Taramom -

Go crazy!......Make it a King Size bag!! Anyone who has finished this process deserves the vice of their choice. Congrats to you and your D and enjoy!

I so enjoyed the laugh you provided. I suspect I'm not alone.....

Freelance -

My D and I visited CCM last Fall (lovely weather by the way) and saw an amazing production of "Brigadoon"

And what beautiful facilities!

And - might I add - Shoshanna Bean is from Portland OR (where we live!) and CCM has certainly helped get her where she is today (Oh yes - that unbelievable voice didn't hurt either....)

janenw

Congratulations to everyone on their choices. Everything will fall into place!

Freelance,
Congratulations to your D. I'm glad you enjoyed your trip to Cincinnati. Sorry the weather played nasty tricks this weekend. Last week we had temperatures near 80, which is a bit warm for this time of year. Sunday morning, we had snow! A student I taught this afternoon told me that her priest wished them a Merry Christmas at her 1st communion mass on Sunday. The weather in the midwest can certainly be crazy. I think it was Mark Twain who said that if you don't like the weather in Cincinnati, just wait a day or two. (Sorry if I got that quote wrong.)

TaraMom,
Yes, you provided me a wonderful giggle as well! I will join you vicariously in your chocolate moment. If you have any PSU questions feel free to ask. My D is completing her sophmore year in MT there. Relax and enjoy her success!

Freelance!
Congratulations! I just saw the post. Good for your d! It is an amazing program with many, many success stories. BTW the weather was bad most places this week-end and actually Cincinatti has better weather than many of the other great schools around (except if you are lucky enough to be in California or Florida).

Taramom- congrats to you too! Sooooo exciting for everyone.
Good one on the m&m's. lol
Wait until your second round ... that was the one that I not only ate the candy, but proceeded to wash it down with 3 bottles of wine!

After my trip to OCU over these past couple of days, I've finally signed the dotted line. Add me to the list of Okies!!
