Decisions have been made for EA!

umm...i thought that we were getting notified on JAN 31??????

Hopefully we find out soon!!

khant, yeah, who knows why our UNC home pages say decisions by the 31st if decisions are already made. Everyone is speculating that we'll know within the next week or two. I hope that's the case!

haha yeah...why IS everyone speculating that it's going to be within the next week or two?

I think I may just call admissions tomorrow and just bluntly ask
or is that...not a smart move?

because last year almost 75% of applicants found out the first week of January. all my buddies who got in/deffered found out January 5th. and ALOT more found out at that same day as well as the following days to come. and also the class of 2006 showed a similar trend

So they weren't told that they'd be notified on/around Jan 5th? They were told that they'd be notified around the 31st? Or do we not know this?

What's the general feeling about the seasons greetings? I got a seasons greeting email, no likely letter, i'm out of state and really nervous! Should i just disregard it and not get my hopes up????

yeah anyone who "shows interest" gets it regardless of whether they submit their application or not. I have had a unc homepage since sophmore year and I;ve always received season's greetings. including birthday wishes.

Last year did anyone recieve an email saying decisions had been posted? Like on January 5th or saying they would be released January 5?

six of my buddies did. all instate. all accepted

astranger- calling doesn't help i've tried multiple times ha. they are very cagey about it and the only thing they'll say is that everyone will have their decision BY Jan 15. I've tried rephrasing the question like ten different ways too ha.

and regarding season's greeting cards, i'm going to say if you were either accepted or deferred you got one. I know of several people who didn't, but all of them didn't have the best stats, and I think they might just be rejected. So maybe they didn't send them to people they were rejecting? I dunno

well by jan 15th is better than by the 31st! :) i'll take it.

My son has great stats (GPA, SAT, and ECs) and he did not get a seasons greetings. He is OOS. I don't think he would be rejected - possibly deferred. That's just my guess.

you will hear by jan 5

yeah what snoz said... either then or the 6th.

NewJerseyMom- did you check the UNC email for it? Because if he didn't then my theory is probably debunked ha.

With regards to the season's greetings letter, I have strong stats (in-state) and received a likely letter around Thanksgiving, yet did not receive the season's greeting e-mail on any account.

And here's hoping to an early release of decisions.

Ya same with me. I got a likely letter the first week of December and never got a season greeting. I don't think season greetings has anything to do with your admission decision considering that I've gotten so many from other colleges, even including colleges I started to apply to but never finished.

If I got neither the likely letter nor seasons greeting card, does that mean I am likely to be rejected? I don't think that even should be the case.
