Decisions on the 15th

Oh, please. Caltech is only looking for grades and stats. Major ECs and multiple major math/science awards didn't seem to mean diddly.

That is ****ing true. I am totally agree

^ I disagree.

Good luck on the decisions all!

good luck at your scioly competition! What a day i'll be

good luck everyone

dang, had i known caltech was recruiting girls and didn't place as much emphasis as i had thought on math/sci ECs...now i kinda wish i had applied. :-/

ugh a whole day and half still!! and then the horrible 2 weeks after for every other school...

anyone else unable to keep waiting?

Ya, I just can't decide if I'm gonna check it right at noon, or sit in front of my computer and not want to see it. BTW, is that 12 eastern time?

yea 12 EST as far as I know... I'll probably sit down at 11am and keep refreshing every minute until 12 lol

I'll just try and sleep at late as I can so I either lessen my wait time after I get up or when I wake up the decision is already there...

Just reminding everyone that I called the making of the decisions thread! I'll make it tomorrow.

Haha, all the ol' gang back in the EA days :)
Good times fellas, good times.

I'm not nearly as stressed as I was in December...probably because I've already accepted my rejection. But hey, I can still say that I was deferred from MIT - EARLY ACTION!

Anyway, it's getting close to the big day...

What are the chances of a Stanford likely letter recipient getting accepted into MIT?

@^^^^

Since they are completely different colleges, not that much necessarily. I would be inclined to think that if you get the "likely" letter from Stanford it just implies that you are also in the running for MIT, eg you wont be placed immediately into the 'No' pile.

Hello guys...Good Luck to all of you...
To those of you who get in: well done you deserve it...Must be a fantastic person to manage to get in here (notice PERSON not just STUDENT)

Those of you who don't: and I am pretty sure with a messed up SAT I will be part of this pile...Sure its sad but it doesnt mean anything...I know its an urban legend but there truly is life after MIT!!! This goes out specially to you obsessive types who come here 24x7 because you have nowhere else to vent the anxiety....May I suggest Calvin and Hobbs or perhaps Tom and Jerry...They are really understanding to applicant related anxiety! :P

Anyway good luck fellas...
Cheers!

I'm going crazy.

how "bad" were your SATs dhruv17590?

To those who get waitlisted: get nationally ranked in something (at least top 100 though...) between now and may 1st, and you're in after giving an update on the achievement.

I'm sure everyone needs a laugh to relieve some stress...

Some kid I know IMed me today. He was a senior last year and we talk on and off. So he was asking me about college applications etc and if I had heard yet and I was like well from Yale a couple months ago and now I'm waiting on MIT and some other schools. He was like.....

MIT... what's that? I said Massachusetts Institute of Technology? His reponse: never heard of it

:)

LOL! At least he didn't try to guess the meaning of MIT...

happy pi day/decisions eve!!!!

Exactly 33 hours remaining! I'm very confident...

that I got rejected. lol
