Decisions: online vs. waiting for the letter

jeeze, if it's online, i couldn't not look at it. i don't wish that more of my schools put it online, but i definitely wouldn't/wouldn't be able to ignore it.

^^ well, my problem is that I think all of my schools will have decisions online, so that's why I'm debating about it. Ah, well :p

I'll just check it online and get it over with. Its not THAT dramatic rolls eyes

^^ well, I just like "moments" :)

I'm a pretty private person, and I like to find out things by myself. Instead of getting home knowing that my parents have scrutinized the thickness of my envelopes for the entire day (they sometimes even put my report cards up to a window in an attempt to see through the paper...lol), I would rather check online.

I already checked online for my early school, and I'd say it was a movie moment - I fell out of my chair crying. IMO, waiting for snail mail is so overrated

Phurley, you can just do what I did and forbid your parents from checking the mail. They might not listen, but mine did. My mom got the mail one day, and I FREAKED OUT. They've been on orders not to open the mail box since March 1st.

It seems like all of my schools will be releasing the decisions online :( So I practically don't have a reason to not to check online. Plus, if I wait for the snail mail, I'll probably get it in the beginning of April or after mid-April :/
I know it seems stupid to be debating about such thing, but I probably just have a need to do something that I've seen people in the movie doing: "Opening mailbox, getting nervous about results, finally opening it, and react accordingly."
I've had two of such mails delivered to me in my lifetime. They were both non-college related (duh), both made me nervous, but both made me feel elated since they were practically acceptances.
Hmmmm... Hoping for the best.

It's kind of hard to wait for the actual letter when igoogle is your homepage and the first thing you see when you go online is "GREAT NEWS FROM UC RIVERSIDE!!!" in your inbox haha

EDIT: Btw, UCR's acceptance letter is a full colour cardstock POP-UP!!! Budget???

^^ Haha, congrats! :)

I'm thinking sort of the same. It'll be really hard to wait for the letter if I see something like "Admissions Decisions for you from xy college" on the top of my mailbox. Good luck to all who decided to abstinent! :D

Hahaha I found out from Michigan by "accident"... On my school's email account I saw that I had an email from Michigan and figured that it was just them telling me that they built a new gym or something. A pleasant surprise!

I'm going to try to wait til the letters come, but given the fact that I am technologically inept, I will probably find out "accidentally" again. However, I have forgotten the passwords and usernames to most of the decision-checker thingies.

ONLINE! i want to know NOW!

;-)

Who is janet and why do you love her?

I'm going to have to wait for some of them, because I forgot my password. Whoops. I don't want to take a chance on calling them to get it back, because they might reject me for the sheer idiocy of doing something like that. xD

In short, I'll be checking my admissions e-mail, but anything requiring a log-in will have to wait in the snail-mail.

Sorry but how do you check online for UCs?
