Now does this all go for Transfer Students also? Does anyone know?

@uhmandur- The only thing my D has received has been an email and a letter stating that she was being considered for an academic scholarship. There is another thread on this site with all of those details. The speculation is that the email/letter is their version of a “likely letter”

My D got her admission letter today:)

Stats:
In-State
GPA: 3.0
SAT: 1590

Congratulations! If I may ask, is the SAT score for math and reading or for all 3 subtests? My d has similar scores (for 3) and we are thinking it will be a stretch for her to be admitted.

Yes that is for all three which explains why she was deferred. She had a very touching personal essay, so I don’t know how much of an impact that was. She didn’t think she would get in because a few of her friends didn’t, but is very excited they took a second look.

I have heard of several young people who had deferrals turned into admissions after writing with a heartfelt statement of interest.

My D also has a touching personal essay and very good recommendations; 3.49 GPA and SAT’s similar to yours. If AC’s take the time to know her through the essays and recs, she might stand a chance. On numbers alone, however, she is surely not their strongest candidate. We are OOS. Wish us luck!

Good Luck!

Son is waiting on last two apps (Delaware and Syracuse- both reaches) and he announced in passing that “Delaware is off the list” …not that he was really considering it. He has an older buddy who loves it and I figured in the blue moon he got in…an overnight visit would have changed his attitude. He’s just not “feelin” the east coast schools So bummed…Guess he wants an substantial environment change (though he says he’d consider Cuse…being March Madness and all)

@iman…so what school is your son looking at?

fyi

sw admissions today. Earliest letters are going out is 3/15 but not sure as to date yet as still finalizing things. Figure somewhere from 3/15-3/18 letters go out.

DogsR…I’ve never seen a kid so laid back about where he’s gonna spend the next four years. He’s in 11 schools, he applied to a ton cause we were going to VISIT after he got in (to save $$, time, and dashed hopes) Colorado Boulder, which he’s seen, was always #1 on his list (second to Wisconsin, but he knew that wasn’t a feasable possibility). We ski in Colorado and I think he just likes the vibe. Then he kept asking if we had heard anything from Vermont (I was STOKED) and when he got in I started pushing that… and he liked Vermont plenty…then he found out 60 kids from his school applied (the reason he wouldn’t consider PennState) I pointed out that even though 23 kids got accepted to UVM only 3 went last year, and out of 6 accepted to Boulder 3 did as well…you never know. With the exception of UVM and maybe Syracuse, it looks like Boulder might be it. We even told him if he went to one of the schools which offered merit $ we’d bank it for him. Meh

On the chance that my son is accepted, I’m planning travel dates for accepted student visits. Has U of Delaware set dates for accepted students to visit?
