Declaring a major

Being an upcoming undeclared freshman, I am aware that I have to declare a major at some point within the first two years. On the UT websites, it says that students may pick their major but it doesn't mention anything on internal transfers. Does every major choice require an internal transfer? What happens if I don't get accepted into the school of my choice, can I keep trying?

I'm looking at the minimum transfer gpa's for Cockrell, and all the engineering majors i am interested in are very high in gpa. (3.7,3.4,3.8) This sounds impossible.

for some of the colleges like natural sciences and liberal arts there is an automatic transfer so you get it no matter what if you are in undergraduate studies. But for engineering its really hard i am in the same boat as you

So, would computer science be automatic?

^ Yep. Liberal Arts (except psychology) and Natural Sciences are automatic.
