When I applied, I was well within the top 7% and applied with a 32 ACT. I got rejected from both of my wanted majors- Computer Science and Electrical and Computer Engineering.
I could go to the School of Undergraduate studies and try to transfer, but what’s my likelihood of getting in to either at that point if I haven’t been accepted at this step? Has anyone been through something similar? I don’t know where to go from here.
I would start at another school - A&M, UTD, Tech, UH and if you still wanted to transfer after a year, try then. You will need a high GPA, 3.8 or so, but you can get started on your actual degree. If you don’t make that high GPA, you can still graduate with a major that you want.
I agree with @GTAustin. It seems as if trying to internally transfer to the School of Engineering or the Computer Science program is much more difficult then externally transferring from another school. It also supplies you with a backup plan, like he stated, if you don’t get accepted.
