Declaring Majors/minors when applying to schools?? Help?

Hi. I’m a senior applying for colleges and I’m a bit confused with majors and minors when applying to a certain college.

I really want to double major in history and international affairs with a minor in music performance. A lot of the schools i’m applying to have that option where you can combine two majors and have a minor in music performance.

However, on the common app it requires only one major to be suggested. If accepted, would I be able to tell them about wanting to double major and minor? How does it work?

btw if anyone has info on northeastern, BU, umiami, or nyu concerning this plz tell me it’ll help ALOT.

Thank you!

I would limit it to just two subjects. Either the two majors or a major and minor. Personally I’d go with the majors, I feel like adding the minor would come off as a little indecisive.

Yes, once you’re accepted to those universities you’ll be able add, drop, and switch majors as you like. Apply with the major that relates most to your application’s “story”.

Most schools (with some exceptions like music performance) do not accept you into specific major anyway. Your intended major may just put you into the corresponding college inside the university for admission purpose. You declare your major after enrollment.
