I got into UPenn's class of 2017, and I declined their offer of admission based on the fact I got a full ride to a different university and I couldn't afford UPenn without loans! Now I am second guessing it, because I loved UPenn and it was so incredible and I was in Wharton, which is my dream masters school. I told myself I could graduate debt free from my current university then apply for UPenn MBA but after orientation at my university it's made me miss UPenn even more :(. If I were to apply as a transfer next year, would that fact that I declined Penn's offer of admission hurt me?

Just to be clear, exactly how much $$$ in loans would you be pulling out total for all four years if you had went to UPenn?

Close to like 23k, where as now I’m not taking out any.

Buyer’s remorse can be deadly to a first year student at whatever university. Give your new university all the passion and energy that is necessary for you to be successful.

My sense is that your chances as a transfer to any very selective university after freshman year is very low, regardless of your admissions history.

In any case, none of us can read the minds of Wharton admissions as they process your transfer application.
