Its going great. People are nice. Lots of stuff 2 do. School’s good too; food is too. All around great.

anybody play field hockey jv or v for deerfield? if so get ready for next saturday (;

Hey Gabii, can students who aren’t on the competing teams go to the away games? I was wondering because it seems like it would be a convenient way for friends and/or siblings from different schools to hitch a ride and visit eachother.

2 WEEKS AT DA!! I LOVE DAAAAAA!! It rules!!! I’m sure who won the hockey games because I was busy watching the varsity football games. DA won against NMH like 30-0. hahaha also the waterpolo team won their games. I mean what can I say WE ARE ON FIRE!!
First saturday, we had the DISCO DANCE. And IT WAS AMAZINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!
The sit down lunches and dinners are awesomeee you get to meet new people. On my table I am the only freshman. So I got to meet seniors, sophomores and Juniors. They are really nice and ask me how my day went. Brief we all talk and laugh.
Everyone always smile and says hi, I smile and say hi a lot even to people I don’t know. The campus is GORGEOUSSSS I lay on the grass with my friends with my laptop to do homework on the weekends. And right across is the boy’s dorm and they just come along and we all laugh do homework or just relax.
We get feed like every night. Also your proctors are always there for you. I lOOOve it here. The tradition of the SCHOOLL IS GREATTTT! i’M GLAaaaaaD iN CHOOSE THIS school over Exeter, Choate, Groton, Hotchkiss never have been this happy about a school.

Linda–I am so happy to hear that things are going well for you. I know the choice was tough for you. My d is loving the Academy as much as you. Do you have a fall sport? My d dances as a sixth class and co-cir, but is considering something else for a sport for the spring.

Are your classes what you thought they would be? Easier, harder, what you expected? Do you seem to have enough time to study and enjoy your new world?

Alexz825Mon, haha Alexz and I are friends. She is such a great kid, and a talented dancer. At the disco dance wow she was on fire… haha well the classes are not hard, but they r not easier either. YEAHH I enjoy my time by going to the mall hang with friends. I play soccer in the fall and it is so much fun.

lol lindha its called Denunzio disco. And we won 31-0 :). Neato, to answer your question. Yes and no. For instance, my soccer team had a game and my proctor came along to help one of his international friends move in at the school. However, there might be exceptions.

Thanks CCer.

Lindha, I’m so glad you are enjoying your new school.

i want to go here really bad…but i am a junior. could i even get accepted?

haha Ccer999 wait you go to DA?! I bet I have seen you before. can u pm me?

I’m thinking about applying to DA for the fall of 2011… I can see that all you students love it there haha. Could any of you guys give me a feeling about their arts program? As well as what you Social Studies classes are like (it’s my favorite subject(: ) I would really appreciate it!

If you have about a 98 average and take all honors/AP classes, and play 3 sports and do well on the SSAT what would be your chance at getting accepted into Deerfield?

Young…this is not the place to ask for people to chance you, try the chance thread. Read the older post on this forum.

IMHO chancing anyone is a waist of time, it gives you no leg up because we make no decisions, just opinions.

What you really want to know is if you would “fit” at DA. Many students at bs have your same stats, but many dont. Many students with your stats dont get into bs like DA.

Most schools are looking to build a community and have students with different background, interest and abilities to contribute to the community.

jerk^ no need to be so disrespectful -_-

Take heart, youngstroke, if the credentials you listed are true I’d say you have a good basis for applying to DA and other top schools. In other words, it’s a good starting point.

Of course, you’d have the interview, application, recommendations and essays to take care of. Last, the school would have to have a ‘need’ for someone of your talents, and that is beyond your control. That’s why it is a “crapshoot” (to use the accepted vernacular).

I’ve always thought it would be more fair for schools to announce up front just what their needs are insofar as filling the ‘student body’. Then, applicants would know right away if it was even worth trying for a particular school.

I’m sure there are people on this forum who will disagree with my view and I hope there are some who don’t!

i disagree with the crapshoot concept. To be honest, you’ll probably get in. But don’t assume you will. There is a high chance you’ll get in, especially if you are good at those sports.

Oh, and about history, right now im taking Asian Civ and its an intense class, its like 200% discussion, you really have to participate. History classes are really good here. IDK about arts

@Ccer999 Thank you! DA is one of my number one schools (all I have to do is get in haha) and History is my favorite subject so I was was wondering… :)

if you want to get into deerfield move to ct, go to country clubs, and have a lot of money for you’re new j crew and ralph lauren wardobe(: and be amazing at 3 sports, especially lacrosse of course

just kidding haha, but Deerfield looks for something special in it’s applicants, I don’t really think its all scores and such

I have an interview with them, Hotchkiss and Taft the next 3 following fridays, any advice

Yes, be YOUR best self (that’s the one you feel secure in yet are not self-centered), not an imitation of someone else’s best. They will see through poseurs.
