CKSABS, you must share your secret for bs admission success.:)

Yes, emdee, we have been fortunate. Although, both my boys are excellent scholars, accomplished athletes, natural leaders, and, perhaps most importantly, very drivenâŠoh, and dare I say nice. Including when my older son applied in 8th grade, but we decided to have him repeat 9th grade, they are a combined 12 for 12 with acceptances. Unbelievable in these competitve times, but it also makes for agonizing decisions too. Itâs all up to my son to decide now. (He will learn of the decions in about 40 minutes.)

Mom and dad must have done something right to have such well-rounded and nice kids.

Think not in terms of BS standards but in terms of the target college. Colleges, for the most part, donât count what is taken in MS no matter how advanced. Instead, they require 2-3 years of âlaboratoryâ science in high school. Thatâs why some private schools, having run out of courses for advanced students, have them take the additional course at a local college so they have the requisite number of classes.

Other colleges donât state âyearsâ but state specific courses of study. So look at some of your âwish listâ colleges and align with those requirements. May be more than what is required at boarding school. Or may be less.

CKSABS - it came regular mail or priority? We received nothing at all from deerfield in the mail today. Itâs weird because weâre not THAT far away.

Neato: As you know, there are separate parent and student envelopes. Both were sent priority mail in flat rate envelopes. âCongratulationsâ is on each of the mailing labels.

Apparently, only a 13.7% acceptance rate this year.

I had Mrs. Howell, too. I am also a girl applying as a sophomore :/

Thanks for the info. DA is probably yet another WL for my sweet girl. It looks like we will end the day with 10 WLs. Thatâs what Hotchkiss was and what I predict for Groton. Priority would have reached us today. I doubt Loomis will have the $ for her. She tried to cover all of her bases and cast a wide net. I admit that I was not prepared for this an Iâm at a loss for what to do.

One of them should come thru for you. When the dust settles, let the CC gang help you to regroup and circle the wagons.

neato, 2 years ago our D was 4-4 WL. We did not expect it at all and admittedly had a very anxious couple of weeks after March 10 until she got into BS. PM me if you want to discuss my âlessons learnedâ of what I think may have helped/didnât help to get her to a happy ending.

@neatoburrito,
So far 4 WL out of 6. No acceptances. I understand your Dâs position.

Wait, shouldnât priority mail take two days across states? So if they were mailed out on the 9th, if thereâs no delay (or expedition) should they arrive on 10th or 11th?

Deerfield didnt come to us until the 12 of March last year, we are in Chicago.

Should I be worried that i haven"t received anything, yet? I live 2 hours away in NH.

I got the email from Deerfield around 16 hours ago and was accepted!
Surprised actually, because Iâm not an exceptional student.

Thatâs interesting. I thought they only sent letters in the mail.
Congratulations!

geekâyou must be exceptionalâŠthe academy chose you!!!

geek is a international.

Okay that makes sense

Last year my D was WLâed at DA and the letter came on the 12th, we are in the same state.

Alex825Mom: Was it an acceptance letter? Thanks!
