Deerfield's On Campus Interviews for Out of State Applicants

I am debating whether or not I should fly to Deerfield for a campus tour and interview or not. I'm from Texas (so it's a ways away). I applied last year (and got waitlisted) and went to their "Admissions on the Road" meeting where I had my interview, but I was considering flying to visit the campus in order to show them how much more serious I am about applying. I would be applying for my Junior year and I'm just wondering if it would really make that much of a difference. In my interview last year, one of the first questions the Deerfield representative asked me was if I would be visiting their campus should I be accepted, so it must be an important effort to visit especially when I'm from so far away.

To clarify, I am not independently wealthy and my parents would not be open to helping me pay for this trip (I work so that I can spend my money as a choose) and I would be a financial aid applicant so you can see why it isn't as easy for me to decide, if it doesn't make that much of a difference then why waste the money?

Also, I am curious as to what happens at these interviews/campus tours? I heard a rumor that you spend the night on campus to get a feel for it, which would make more since for the out-of-towners like me who spend an entire day traveling to get there.

Thanks ^_^

When I went on the second day visit, I spent the night in my guide’s dorm. It was really fun and that night I was lucky because I got to experience a feed. So there are benefits to going to see the campus, but I don’t think that it will effect admissions decisions at all, but you would get a better feel of the school if you did visit. I know that it made a really big difference for me
