Would it be okay if I applied to college my junior year, get accepted, and decide to defer and attend high school for one more year?

What is the point of applying early if you are still gonna stay
at high school for another year?

Don’t discount the fact that some schools look dimly on potential incoming freshmen who don’t turn 18. You might just be a Senior with an early handful of rejection letters.

If you really really have a meaningful thing to do after you’re accepted, then delay. But to go the normal route of Senior year – that’s just bizarre.

Some schools allow you to defer enrollment, but I’ve never heard of someone doing so in order to spend another year in high school. Just check the policies on that at the school you are applying to. It should be available on their website. If not, you can always call the admissions office.
