Nope, the midyear report will be enough for us bigb14!

MITChris: my QB application is really really bad (compared to my CommonApp).

Some QB partner schools REFUSE to look at my CommonApp…they only want the QB app.

LOL…

guess who just got deferred? i’m quite disappointed, but my friends are being really supportive, which is great. except for the one other guy from my school who is applying to MIT. he’s being a jerk!

Can anyone vouch for or against sending in extra material? I was thinking of making something cool and putting MIT’s logo on it :D

deferred
2nd one this week
gah
i have to wait at least 3 months for 6 college decisions
-_-

^like a decorated christmas tree

did anyone else get deferred at caltech? :(

Deferred! I’m glad I have another chance in RD. Looking forward to making my application much stronger through the midyear report =].

Hello Code H. I got deferred too, and didn’t feel anything either, though I didn’t open a textbook afterward. My QB app is abysmal too, but then all unmatched QB applicants probably think the same of their QB app.

Pnptruong: Nice to see you’re still optimistic. I’m slightly disillusioned with the college admissions process.

@immortalix I think my QB app isn’t abysmal, but it may be very one dimensional. I know that the Questbridge program never hurts, but I’m wondering if I may have hurt myself through limiting my application to the obstacles that I’ve overcome, rather than the passions I have.

@MITChris Do you mind if I send you a private message regarding the deferral process? I would really like some advice from someone extremely familiar with admissions. Any help I can get is greatly appreciated.

i was deferred as well… i’m sort of relieved that i didn’t get rejected, but my parents are sort of bummed. they see it as indicative that i won’t get in anywhere else rd either =//

lets add another QB finalist to the deferred list! haha

but, i’m not rejected (:

Cryptus -

Go ahead! I’ll answer what I can, when I can.

I was just wondering if the athletes got in or not…

Deferred as well.

But I am not in the least bit down. In fact I’m quite energized.

These past few weeks have been pretty horrible, what with all the anxiety and stress. But after finally seeing the not so horrendous outcome (hey, I still have a chance : ) ), I realized that all that stress was not worth it!

In fact, I think I lost the chance to get to know a girl I really liked because I was so moody.

After the initial shock, I was ecstatic about having another chance. This time I will try my hardest WHILE being happy (: P). I hope all you deferrees don’t mope around and actually take advantage of the chance given to you.

Good luck : )

@Kitkatkatie

I would definitely apply to princeton and stanford! You never know what can happen. And don’t give up on MIT just yet, we can definitely still get in. You will always have Chicago so explore some of your other options and keep MIT in mind.

Feliz - I’ll tell you not all the URMs got in.

I didn’t :(

WOOT

wrote my Duke supplement in the past hour.

:D

At least I didn’t get rejected! Wahoo! (we will save that for later. :P)

I have a general question.
When MIT says that they want to have at most 30% of their class be from EA, does that mean people who APPLIED EA (ie including all of us) or people who were ACCEPTED EA (not us)?
I’m asking if we still have a chance, b/c if the 30% is anyone who applied EA, and they just admitted 600… we may be out of luck?

^People who were accepted EA (your second option).

Essentially, they don’t want to lock up 60% of the otal seats early like some other selective schools do.
