I was deferred at NU and I need to submit my mid-year grades. I will have a 3.5UW, 3.6W with 4 AP’s and an honors class. My overall is a 3.8UW, 4.1W. If I maintain these grades, my new GPA will be a 3.8UW, 4.2W. This semester, I was also involved with activities that require an extensive amount of after-school hours and I was still in the process of applying to colleges. Will I still have a chance of getting in with the deferral with these grades? What steps could I take to enhance my application since it is still my first choice? Thanks!
You wrote in your prior post that you are taking the most rigorous courses availble, but I see you took Calc AB. Doesy your school offer BC? Have you visited NU’s campus or interviewed? Do they allow you to submit additional materials? I would imagine a visit, interview, and either a short letter or video with updates and explanation of why you’d be a good fit are what you can do at this point if these things are allowed and considered.
@pacepea our school does offer BC but I wanted to take some other ap’s as well so I chose AB. Math isn’t my forte but I wanted to introduce myself to calc. I have visited twice and stayed there over the summer. I did an interview in my area. They do allow the submission of additional materials so I will probably do that. Thank you for the advice:)
