Deferral?

<p>Michigan uses rolling admissions right? I applied 2 weeks ago (January 1st) and I received the following via e-mail; so, is this considered a deferral from rolling admissions?</p>

<p>"Thank you for your application to the University of Michigan. After an initial individualized and comprehensive review of your application, we have determined that we will need additional information in order to make a final decision. We need this additional information and time to ensure that we give your application the best possible review. We will notify you of a final decision on your application by mid-April."</p>

<p>Also, does this mean that my decision will be based on my mid-year report?</p>

<p>Yes you were deferred, and yes your midyear report plus anything spectacular you manage to achieve (a big award or something along the lines of that) will matter now</p>
