We are in a weird situation. My D was invited to audition for a very nice scholarship within the school of music. The invitation was based on a prescreening dvd, application and letter of rec. The admissions notified her that was she was deferred. Ok um...buy the plane ticket? Contact the school of music, contact admissions? Not sure what my approach should be and how to advice D.
I would love to hear from other parents who have faced this same issue. Unique to say the least.

My daughter is in a similar situation. I called the School of Music admissions office to talk to them about it, and they explained that basically the decision of whether or not she is admitted will all rest on her audition. If the music school wants her, then she will be accepted to the university. I suspect this is what’s up with your D as well, but you might want to call the music school just in case before you buy the plane tickets.

Did your D apply Early Decision or Early Action? That could explain the deferred classification if the school was interested but put her in the general pool for selection. I’d definitely call and get clarification.
