Ok, I was deferred EA... I did not receive an interview, and Harvard told me that it was okay and not to worry. Now, I thought it was a little late for this... even for RD candidates... but I just got a call to meet with an alum for TOMORROW AFTERNOON at his own (expensive) HOUSE. Well he didn't call it an interview but I guess that's implied - he just said I could "learn more about harvard."

First of all - I only got ONE college interview (with Penn) - should I expect the same kind of thing/atmosphere/questions?

Also, he told me H was "very interested in me" - is this a standard greeting? Or is it sincere - are they actually interested in me? Probably is standard... but I'm just so excited I get a chance for an interview!!

And any advice on what I should do is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.

Wear pressed khakis and a button-down white shirt with a crimson sweater. Bring a resume with your stats and EC's in case he doesn't have that stuff. Sit up straight and LOOK HIM IN THE EYE! Don't say "umm" and don't use the "like" word.

Other than that, relax and be yourself!!

As a skater, give him an informed analysis of the Olympics. With the timing, he'll be interested, and you know more about it than he does.

Sounds like an invitation to an interview to me. You should prepare as you would for any interview: dress business casual; bring a resume; and just be your bright, interesting self. Good luck.
