Deferred or Denied?

Alright, this is an extremely stupid question, by I'm not sure if I was denied or deferred from my ED college. cringe

I know I was not accepted, but it didn't really indicate anything else...

On the college's website, it states that if deferred then the applicant will be moved to the RD pile. If denied, they will be removed from any further consideration. My letter did not say which one of these options the college chose for me. I assume I got denied since it did not mention anything about being moved to RD or being waitlisted, but, in truth, I really don't know.

I know this is a stupid question, but I really don't know and I don't want to give up on this dream if I don't have to. Any help would be greatly appreciated and if anyone needs more details about the letter please just ask.

uhhh datz weird. Call the admissions office and ask, or post the full text of your letter and maybe someone in these forums maybe able to pick somefing out that you missed.

I regret to inform you that we are not able to admit you to the Class of 2011.

Please be assured that this decision was reached after a careful and thorough consideration of your application. We know how much time and energy goes into selecting a college, and your accomplishments, both academic and social, are quite impressive. As you know, the competition for admission to the College is keen; many more qualified students apply than we can admit.

We greatly appreciate your interest and we wish we could be sending you better news. I know we have missed an oppotunity to get to know a remarkable person. I wish you the best in your endeavors.

you have been rejected. i'm sorry.

rejected ..sry

Sorry Peppermint, but that's a rejection. I'm sure you'll find another great school.
