After waiting all month to find out the decision of my first choice school, I got a letter yesterday informing me that they have decided to defer me to regular decision. At first I was happy because after seeing the small envelope, I assumed that they had rejected me, so it seems that I now have another chance. Now, I realize that I will not know where I am going to college until April, and that isn't very comforting. They want my first semester grades (1st quarter was the best report card I had to date, and 2nd quarter was pretty good as well). I am visiting again and interviewing. I really want to go to this school. Is there anything else that I can do? Any words of wisdom?

Good luck

Your grades will be a large factor in their decision, plus your expression of interest in the interview. If it is your number one choice, meaning you will reject other offers if you are accepted, then tell them so.

What school is it?

Fairfield in CT. I'm not an awesome student, but I have really good ECs and above par SAt's.

My question though, does being deferred mean anything? I mean does it mean that I have a decent shot at getting in RD?

Oh and thank you for the replies, and Happy Holidays to everyone.
