I got a 2150 when I took the SAT last January. I know this is relatively high, but compared to other MIT applicants, this is on the lower end. Am I allowed to retake the test?

Also, do I have to send the new scores to EVERY college that I'm applying to (ie my safety..)? If I already sent other apps, where I reported my current score, should I send an email to that school saying I'm sending new scores or will this score override the last one I sent?

I mean, of course you can retake it - it’s not like MIT is going to stop you - but being deferred means your scores are high enough. If you want to improve your application, focus on something worthwhile.

And no, you don’t have to send the new scores everywhere, you can choose.

actually if your score is 2150, there’s still room for significant improvement. If you think you can improve a lot, I suggest you retake it. But PiperXP is right in that you still need to improve your application in other ways and I don’t know if the time you’ll be spending on the SAT is worth it.

And no, you don’t send your new score to the other colleges you applied to unless their SAT deadline allows for it.
