send new SAT scores?

When I applied to MIT early, I had a 1500 (800m / 700v).

I was deferred, but got a 1540 (780m / 760v) in December.

So the way MIT considers things, I have 800m / 760v.

Do you think it's worth sending these in, or were my scores already good enough for them not to care?

Thanks.

Send them in.

MIT uses an algorithm to compute academic indexes. This algorithm compares your scores to those of MIT's four current classes (or something like that). So, while a 700 verbal is 25 percentile for MIT students, a 760 verbal is 80 percentile (guesstimating).

I say send them in, but I don't think a 1500 to 1540 or 1560 will make much of a difference. From what I understand, SATs are not a major factor in admissions (relative to course rigot, grades, and your overall passions). Send them in though because it can't hurt you, only help you. Good luck.

Send those in for sure.
