I think it would be cool to see how many deferred students actually got accepted in the end. Post basic stats! Good luck to everyone! :)

Sorry guys, I was waitlisted :/

Oh well, I’m not too upset about it. I know UChicago had a HUGE increase in applicants this year. I’m really happy for all that are accepted! It’s an amazing school!

Waitlisted!

I’m crying but there’s a little bit of happiness left… I feel like those of us who were deferred have it REALLY TOUGH though. We were told to wait back in December, we did, and now we’re pushed back even more. I could never stop thinking about UChicago this semester, and even though I know the odds are against me, I’m still not going to be able to get it off my mind. WHY MUST THIS SCHOOL ATTRACT ME SO!!!

Me too. waitlisted. This is annoying me because although i take it as a rejection, there’s still a little part of me who’s looking at the glimmer of hope…

Accepted. Has yet to sink in. I am so grateful though, and just want people to know that normal people really do get in. You don’t need to be a genius; you don’t need to be anything more than a passionate, curious, dedicated 18 year old committed to being yourself. And there are countless ways and places to do that. The death of one possibility is only the birth of a million others, and one of those is right for you. for YOU.

Accepted! I was a little disheartened when I got deferred, but to all future deferred people don’t lose hope. I sent in another essay and the email they requested as well as my new grades and maybe that helped.

DeepBreathPlease is totally right, normal people (like me) do get in. My stats are in the RD decisions thread for people who want to see.

Accepted!

I am still floating on cloud 9. Congrats to everyone who got in, and good luck to the rest!

My D was rejected. Never wrote that letter professing Chicago to be number 1 choice.

I was waitlisted today. Kind of disappointed. What are the chances of actually getting accepted?

I was accepted. I think what did it for me was a lot of contact w/ my rep, and I submitted some extra material after I was deferred.

I know the feeling of being waitlisted (I was at WashU) and it is so annoying, especially since you applied early. Chin up, guys

Congrats nondairycreamer !!

thanks Molectron! And I hope you get off the waitlist… You deserve Chicago!!

I was deferred and then accepted with a University Scholar Award. It’s funny how things work out.
