ok we all know UMICH has rolling admissions, but today i got a letter in the mail dated March 4th saying that their decision is being deferred until a date no later than mid-April. I didn't know UMICH even did this...

did anyone else get a letter like this?
anyone know if i still have a chance of getting in?

they also said that the decision could be altered by my fall grades, and to get them a copy of my fall grades as soon as possible, but my guidance counselor sent them out almost 3 weeks ago!

yeah, i also got deferred like a couple of weeks ago. You might want to call and ask them whether they already recieved your midyear grades..if your counselor already sent them 3 weeks ago, umich probably already has them. They just remind you to send them in the letter because the letter is the standard one that everyone gets...it doesn't mean they don't have your grades yet.

i really have no idea...hopefully this isn't just another way of telling us we're rejected =( Michigan is my top choice, and i honestly regret not turning in my application earlier. Sigh. If you don't mind me asking, what are your stats and which college did you apply for?
