Okay, I applied to IU as early action in August. I have a 3.05 GPA and a 1190 on the new sat. IU’s average GPA is around a 3.7ish. I’m not for sure about their sat/act. I received an update saying that the admissions counselors reviewed my application and would like to see my 7th semester grades. My freshman year was bad and since then I have had nearly straight A’s and some B’s and have also take Pre-AP classes as well as AP Chem and AP Enviromental Science. In my essay I wrote about how I had a bad freshman year and how I have been trying to make up for it. What does it mean if they want my 7th semester grades?

It means they want to see your grades for the first semester of your senior year before they decide. If you are doing well now, it will help you.

My son had the same experience at a different school where he applied ED. He worked very hard senior year and he was ultimately admitted. So work hard … it’s not over yet!

Your first 3 years = six semesters. Your 7th semester, like @gardenstategal said, is your first semester senior year.

If they ask for your 7th semester grades it means they want to see your 7th semester grades. You have to do well this semester.
