I applied direct admit into the Kelley school of business with a 30 ACT and a 3.54 gpa(brought up to 3.68 after first quarter of senior year). Just heard back from admissions saying that they want my 7th semester grades before they make a decision. IU is my top choice but my counselor also said it should be a safety. Why do they want my 7th semester grades? Should I lose hope?

They probably want to see whether you meet the requirements for direct admission to Kelley after your 7th semester. You would need a 3.7

Based on your ACT and gpa, IU is probably a safety for you in terms of getting accepted to IU, but not getting direct admit to Kelley. Have you already been accepted to IU? You are probably safe for that.

Check this page for rules for direct admit to Kelley, including how to petition for direct admission.

Since sending in my application the only response I have gotten was saying that they needed my 7th semester grades so I assumed it meant that I had not yet been accepted to IU. Thanks for the help @bthomp1

You need a 3.7 and a 30 ACT for Kelley Bloomington . So they want to verify the semester grade.
