I was deferred from UMich about 1 month ago. I got what some claim is the "better deferral," which asks you to send out your first semester grades as soon as possible.
UMich only asks for 1 letter of rec. I have another that I could easily send out. Should I send it out to show that I am still interested? Should I also include a brief statement stating that I still intend to attend UMich?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Check out the thread under ---> Colleges and Universities ---> CC Top Universities ---> U Mich It's about U Mich deferrals and has some good stuff in it. Also you'll probably be able to get an answer in there from people that know a little more about the particular school.

My post in there states what happened to me, what my stats were, what I did and all that good stuff.

Hope it helps and best of luck! I hope to see ya next year!

PS PM me when you hear from them!

Yes, send another letter, write another essay about something you may have done since applying that is noteworthy, but wasn't listed on your application. Do this all ASAP and let them know you're still very interested.

Best of luck!
