I was wondering how many universities in the US allow accepted students to defer matriculation for a year? As I go to March-December school, I'd prefer to finish my senior year but still apply as a junior as I'll probably have better chances. I know the timeline sounds strange, but basically I'd have to leave school midway through my senior year and miss out on a bunch of experiences, etc.
Do Ivy Leagues regularly allow students to defer matriculation for a year?

Yes. Once admitted, tell them you’d like to defer for a year. I’ve never heard of an Ivy who wouldn’t allow this.

I especially think if you explain your situation schools would be nicer about deferring your admission, good luck!

BTW: if you ask for a deferment, you also sign a pledge saying you won’t take that gap time and go apply to other colleges. That would be bogus.
