The CSU application asks me if I will be getting a degree from my CC, but I’m not sure if I’m supposed to list IGETC certification here. There’s an option for “Certificate” but it also asks me for my major, and I don’t know if it means the area I got the certificate for or my intended major.
IGETC certification would not be listed as a certificate program from a CC on the CSU application.
IGETC is a series of courses, certified by the California community colleges, that you complete in order to satisfy the freshman/sophomore-level general education requirements needed for transfer.
Students should request IGETC Certification when official transcripts are requested.
So I should list certificate or no degrees awarded?
If you are not receiving an AA degree, AD-T degree (AA-T or AS-T) then you will not list a degree.
Regarding the Certificate, unless it specifically asks for the IGETC, I would not list it but I would check with a transfer advisor first since it is not mentioned on the CSU application guide page 23
