Delaware EA 2026

Received same email. Not optimistic since D22 was accepted in early December.

My OOS S22 didn’t receive an email, but remembered that the decision was supposed to be given on Feb 15 so he went to the portal. The area of HC was gone, so I guess that means he didn’t make the cut. Would have been nice to at least receive an email.

Headed to “Decision Day” this weekend from MA. Anyone else?
Suggestions of things to check out?

We’ll be there too. Depends how long you are staying. Philadelphia is close and always nice to tour. We’re coming from the beaches in southern Delaware.

If you need anything, always tax free shopping in Delaware. Christiana mall is close.

We’re coming too. D received an email for discounted basketball tickets on Saturday, so that’s an option if your family would be interested! We would like to see the town adjacent to campus and heard the “main street” area is nice to walk around? D really wants to see what is walkable, since she wouldn’t have a car.

My daughter is a senior, never had a car until this year, never took the bus, was in Redding (honors dorm) freshman year, her off campus town house is close to everything, Main Street is awesome with shops and restaurants. It’s a very nice walkable campus.

The busses weren’t bad there, but even from far north campus you could walk. 3 out of 4 of my dorms (all large complexes) have been demolished, which means they’ve updated their housing.

How was the decision day event? We are heading down for an accepted students tour this weekend. Are you able to get a good feel for campus even when the weather is a little chilly? Any must see things that we should check out?

We just went this past Saturday. D found it helpful, and we had previously gone to one of the Open Houses for her college. Different professors spoke and presented the academic info sessions, so it was nice to get more information from others. They spoke to their strength of advising and took us on a tour of the facilities. Student ambassadors also spoke.

It was cold but the parents were all bundled up. Students, as usual, had on shorts and mini skirts, etc. It was funny to me. Campus entirely walkable and went into the Student Union, bookstore, etc. Wish we could’ve seen a dorm but no luck due to COVID precautions. D said there are good online videos of dorms.

The session we went to on residence life/housing was packed, and we had to stand outside in a halllway and listen. Go early if you want a seat. They also offered discounted basketball tickets, so we went to a game, which was fun.

D enjoyed walking around main street area and walking around campus. Definitely check out the Creamery and bookstore and Student Union, as well as the main street area. Go to a game if offered. Talk to the student ambassadors, who tended to be slightly more candid, while still strong supporters of the school.

@gcmom1 thank you so much, that’s awesome info!

Anybody know how the housing works? Is it totally random or based on when you submit contract?

Incoming students chose either suite style or traditional (suite style has a/c and us farther away s from things, they clean the bathroom, traditional is closer but good chance older dorm with no a/c and maybe no elevators). They can try to find roommates or have the university match them. Honors dorm is in a great spot with a/c and elevators.

Thanks for the quick answer! So when you commit has no bearing on what dorm you get?

Nope!
