My senior year daughter still doesn't have her October SAT scores. I called the CB and they are investigating and will get back to me in 5-10 business days from last Wed. Because of her illness accommodations, her test was administered by her school one-on-one and those are her first SAT scores. The problem is she is trying to meet an 11/15 early decision deadline and several 12/1 deadlines. (At this point, I am most concerned with the 11/15 deadline.)

I tried to get the CB disabilities office involved but they said that since someone else at the CB had already "opened a file" they couldn't look into it. I assume the disabilities office has her test but what do I know? I could ask the school to call but the person in charge of testing and accommodations is a mess.

I did tell the CB that she was trying to meet this deadline and they promised to put that into the investigation. Of course, at this point, she's considering applying ED without even having SAT scores-- so she could have easily shot too high.

Is there a disabilities advisor on the college campus that you're aiming for, who might be able to put in some kind of note to let her app go in as ED, since the problem appears to be bureaucratic at the CB level?

Maybe that's a phone call to make tomorrow.

And, perhaps the disabilities coordinator at the college has heard of this problem before and has insight into breaking the logjam.

Are you crystal-clear sure you want to apply ED? Just a thought, and to take off some of the pressure. She took her first SAT's as a senior, so it caused me to wonder how she's so sure she's got a #1 place here. ED should be way out in front as a first-choice for her, not just kinda-sorta.

Just call the college and let them know what's going on. Believe me, they are used to screwups on the part of testing companies. As long as they know that you took the test in time and the steps you are taking to deal with the problem, they will almost surely say that you should send the app and let them know about scores when you straighten it out. Just keep on top of the College Board and keep the college posted if there are any other problems.

When I applied to grad school, my GRE scores were not sent to one school. It took ETS 3 weeks past the app deadline to get them the scores. The grad program was not in the least bit concerned - they told me it happens all the time, don't worry, get them to us as fast as you can. Oh, and I was accepted.

Paying3tuitions, She didn't exactly take her first SAT I as a senior. She got physically sick during her Spring SAT I. The CB ened up giving her an accommodation (breaks as needed) so she was able to complete the test in October.

My advice: Have your daughter ask her school counselor to call the College Board on their counselor hotline. As a school counselor, I've often gotten results when the parent/student calling the regular CB number haven't been able to. If the school counselor doesn't know the number, she/he should look on the "educators" section of the CB site, or in any of the counselor materials the CB sends out.
