I've always taken standardized tests with mechanical pencils... they're what I'm used to writing with, they don't wear down, and they're easier to control. Regular pencils make my hands cramp up faster and frustrate me as they wear down. I've never had a problem with my using them... let's hope CB doesn't cancel my Nov SAT scores lol.

Yeah, I'd think the lead would be the only giveaway. 'cept they make #3 wooden pencils, too.

Really? my proctor yelled "MECHANICAL PENCILS ARE ALRIGHT. DON'T LISTEN TO COLLEGEBOARD. THAT RULE IS OUTDATED."

^Well, then tell that to collegeboard.

well I talked to EST today. they basically told me "**** you, a rule is a rule no matter even if the proctor said it was alright. You might have had an unfair advantage over anyone"
Well, this statement proves it, everyone. The EST and Collegeboard are nothing but scum of the earth. They don't care about destroying my chances for college over a pencil.

Screw them. Take the December test and your problems are solved. Use a #2, wooden pencil.

Sorry you had to deal with this crapola :(
