Hello,
I'm a senior in high school, and this month I took my third and final SAT. Today, December 22nd, is the day that the scores are supposed to come out, but I did not receive mine on the College Board website. I checked multiple times throughout the day, and still nothing appeared, so I decided to call College Board about it. They told me that my SAT was forwarded to their "Escalations Department", and that it was going through what they called an Exception Scoring Process. The lady who had answered my call could not give me the info I needed to know about it, but she told them that she would "forward my request" to them and that they would email me in 1 - 2 business days with details about why my test is going through this and when to expect my scores back.
I did a little research, and I'm assuming that the reason this whole dilemma is taking place is due to my SAT score possibly jumping. My highest score is a 1930, but I'm almost positive that I got at least a 2100 on this one (hopefully!). Apparently that is the major reason why some people's SAT's go through this process; their scores spiked and College Board wants to make sure that it wasn't because they cheated. I felt like this SAT was my best yet, so there is no reason for me to cheat, also because it's just scummy in general. So my question is: can anyone please fill me in on what is actually happening to my exam? What should I expect and when should I expect my scores to come back? This whole thing has me on edge and I would truly appreciate some legitimate answers. Thank you very much, and happy holidays to you and your families
