Demonstrated Interest?

Question – is it important that I demonstrate interest towards JHU (campus visit, info session, etc.)? I’ve been on campus but never on an official tour. With that being said, I’ve talked to a coach there who told me a great deal about the school. Would this work against me in my RD application?

Also, as an RD applicant, would it be in my best interest to request an alumni interview? Thanks!

A Google search tells me that the more selective schools do not measure demonstrated interest. An interview definitely won’t hurt you, and it will give you the chance to ask questions and hear about someone’s experience at Hopkins. But it won’t hurt you if you don’t have one either; I didn’t.
