Demonstrated Interest

I am a transfer student applying as a junior for class of 2018. I want to go to LMU and I haven’t gotten a decision or anything but they’re supposed to come out soon. I want to show LMU that I’m interested in them so I am thinking of writing an email to my admissions person there but I don’t really know what to say or what is typical of sending them an email. Does anyone have any ideas of what I should write or any other ways that I can show interest?

One of the best ways to show interest in a college is to visit. Another way you can reach out is to email the representative that’s designated to your area (I’m not sure if LMU does that but I assume they do). Although interest in the school should also be apparent in your application where you had the chance. Overall I’m not sure there’s too much you can do to show interest now that your app is submitted, but something is definitely better than nothing. Good luck! I hope you get a spot

Interesting. If you applied through Common App, there should have been a question on their supplemental application that asked why you are interested in attending LMU. Answering that should clearly show how much you want to attend their school.

I did

I did the supplemental question but I want them to know that they’re my first choice and I can’t really visit so I was thinking the email could be a good alternative

I’d say go for what @mntEden suggested; that is, email the admissions representative and whatnot. I mean, overall, you did try your best to show interest on their supplemental app. If you’re active on Twitter, you could even send @LMUAdmission a tweet about LMU being your first choice. I did the same for Chapman Admission saying, “Just submitted my transfer app for Chapman. Praying to the Panther gods I get in.” And they retweeted it and responded with, “The panther gods have heard your request and will be reviewing your application shortly.” Haha I thought it was pretty cool of them to say something like that.
