I'm reading/hearing pros and cons about Denison. Anybody have any opinions out there?

DD1 attends there. It’s a beautiful campus located in quaint/scenic Granville OH, about 30 mins from Columbus. The teachers care for the students and the students are very involved in issues. DD has been irritated that she can’t get into the specific classes she wants but I don’t that is different from other schools. They have very good merit aid and, from what I have seen, good FA as well (though probably merit based).

In the past it had a pretty heavy party reputation which has been significantly reined in over the past decade or so. Nearly all the 2,200 students live on campus, which for me is a huge positive. Greek life is prominent. I’ve not been to the campus myself, but it has the reputation of being idyllic and the photos I’ve seen are stunning.

Denison grad here. From too long ago to say. The academics have improved tremendously since I was there, but even still – I had a wonderful experience. Close relationships with professors. Genuine concern about academics. Greek scene has been downsized considerably. Granville is wonderful. An ideal undergraduate environment.
