Anyone know if and when this Hall has been updated-refurbished?
I think the only video or pics I have seen of the inside are from 2012 and that video showed furniture in really bad condition and outdated look.
Hey again! I’ve never lived in Dennis but I haven’t heard complaints. Granted, it’s a first-year male hall, and that can always be a down side 
I checked out that Dennis Hall vid on youtube and that furniture still looks “outdated”, but I don’t think it’s beaten up or anything. Bathrooms are also cleaned by staff once weekly, idk how much that would play into the feeling of “bad condition”.
I mean, if you have a choice, I probably wouldn’t live in Dennis, but most of the dorms on that side of the lake are going to be a little older. I know it was refurbed in 2007/8 (granted, a while ago), and also closed for repairs and what not over the summer. Ultimately, to be honest, a dorm is a dorm.
Bonus points for Dennis because it typically has a great community (a faculty fellow lives there) and great location (near gym, library, other freshmen, international center, closer to B School, etc).

too bad the furniture has not been updated in 10 years…would they maybe have put new furniture in over the summer?
furniture has been updated in the last 5 years and there has been new carpet and a few things updated over this summer
My son is a freshman in Dennis and (insofar as dorms go) it’s pretty nice. Carpet is new. Bathrooms are decent. AC is ice-cold and controlled via an actual working thermostat in the room. Common areas are nice. It’s a dorm not the ritz but it’s a long way from a dump and nothing to be concerned about. (My W&L dorm in a previous century was twice the dump, so much so that they BULLDOZED IT.) I keep telling my son that the less time he spends in his dorm room the better will be his experience, so I wouldn’t want it to be too nice. And yes, the location is very convenient.
